I had always wanted to see a Vegas magic show, and there was none better than the legendary Penn & Teller. When we arrived at the theater there was simply a plexiglass box sitting on stage as well as a wooden crate of similar size. The audience was permitted to inspect these items in preparation for the show to start.
Hunger Games: The Exhibition
Overall, the exhibit was wonderfully designed and put together. It was wonderfully quiet. As it was just beginning to open to the public, it hadn’t been largely discovered yet. This gave us the added benefit of everything being shiny and new.
My Heart Will Go On In Vegas
Celine Dion, Penn & Teller, great food, and lots of touring… our May 2019 trip. I love Vegas because it is the perfect place to take a quick trip, have a great adventure, then head home for work the next day. I have missed this special place!
Best Breakfast Bagel
Breakfast is the staple meal of the day. Getting the right start sets the tempo for the rest of the day. This hearty sandwich is just what the hungry person needs first thing in the morning!
Tiffany Glows
I set up a little studio in my living room with a black backdrop and just used two off camera speedlights and a constant light to create the moody lighting. This is not normally the type of photos I shoot – I love even light and bright colors – but Tiffany was totally sweet as I figured it all out.
We Booked Our Next Trip to Disney World with Dreams Unlimited Travel!
We have never worked with a travel agent before and so far the process has been great! Stacey with Dreams Unlimited answered my many, many questions and emails very quickly and thoroughly. It was great to have someone to bounce ideas off of and who could pull quotes for us. Using a travel agent for Disney is free for the consumer – they get paid commissions through Disney.
California 2020 Wrap-Up
Whew! That was a hell of a trip!
The Best of the Rest: Bay Area 2020
On our second day there, we woke up very early to meet up with San Francisco’s best tour guide: my Uncle Richard. My uncle has lived in the Bay Area his entire life and he absolutely loves visiting San Francisco. He was kind enough to oblige us on whatever we wanted to do – which was mostly a bunch of touristy things we had done as children and wanted to relive. First, we were headed to Alcatraz.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Overall, this play is a MUST SEE for any Harry Potter fan. It absolutely blew us away. We had seen Broadway’s Frozen just a week prior and that had impressed us. This was in an entirely different category of what I believed to be possible on stage. These tickets were not cheap, but I would happily throw down the money to go see it again if it ever comes to Denver. Adam, who is a more casual Harry Potter fan, would also pay to see it a second time. We were both positively dazzled.
The Best of the Rest – Southern California 2020
Disneyland isn’t the only spot we visit when we go on vacation to Southern California. We generally try to spread our Disney days out so we aren’t completely exhausted going several days in a row. We are very fortunate to have a place to stay close to the parks, because my Uncle Peter actually is an architect that does a lot of contracted work for Disneyland. This post is about the stuff we do in between our park days.
Disneyland 2020 – Day 3
As night crept in and we realized we were in our final few hours at one of our favorite places in the world, we wanted to get every last inch of Disney we could since we didn’t know when we would be returning.
Comparing Broadway’s Frozen the Musical to Frozen – Live at the Hyperion
In a fun turn of events, we happened to be in California Adventure the day after we had seen Broadway’s Frozen… Had it really been worth the cost of the tickets to go see Broadway’s version when we could see the same story at Disneyland? Spoiler alert: Yes.
