This photoshoot was so much fun. Malari had approached me and asked if I was interested in doing an Elsa-inspired maternity shoot with her and her husband. With the combination of winter and the pandemic, I hadn’t really gone out and shot anything in months. I thought it sounded like a really pretty idea, so I agreed and we waited for the snow to come. The timing was obviously tricky, with it being a maternity shoot – we didn’t want to wait too long and miss our opportunity, but we didn’t want to do it too early either.
Well, I think we waited for the perfect moment because I adore how these photos turned out. At first, I was a little disappointed that there was still a layer of fog, so we couldn’t get any really epic shots of the mountain views around Helen Hunt Falls, but I think it ended up working in our favor. Not only was the light gorgeous and even throughout the shoot, but the fog added an enchanting quality to the pictures. I think they turned out beautifully!
Malari was a total trooper in that dress! Here are some fun Behind the Scenes pictures that Adam took.
This gave my husband and me a great excuse to get out of the house! Even though it was cold, it was so nice to be out doing something during the pandemic. We used to do this kind of stuff all the time! Objects in motion stay in motion, objects in rest stay in rest until an outside force acts on them… That is kind of what we have been like this last year. This was the push we needed to get out again. We even came back to this same place for a hike on our anniversary a couple weeks later!
Afterward, we even climbed up to the top of the waterfall where we had taken some of our own wedding photos, and took our own picture. What a lovely day, indeed.
