We pray for all those who faithfully serve.
We commend to your gracious care all the men and
women of our armed forces at home and abroad.
Defend them day by day.
Strengthen them in their trials.
Give them courage to face their perils.
And grant them a sense of our abiding love and gratitude.
Protect them as they protect us.
Keep them safe from all evil and harm.
Bring them home safely to those who love and miss them.
Amen.

There were so many special moments throughout our wedding ceremony, but one that had little to do with us, was when we honored a very special person who was going to be deployed a couple weeks after the wedding. We really wanted to create a special moment for him to show our support and let him know how much we love him.

We wrote something called the “Soldier’s Prayer” and called him up at the start of our ceremony. We played the Soldier’s Prayer on the TV and everyone in the room read the words to him in unison. It was a powerful, emotional moment and a special way to start our ceremony.
